Beautiful hike but the old guys at the bottom that extort money from hikers only take cash and will turn you around and make you drive back ten kilometers to get some.

  • Beautiful spot with very few other hikers when I was there on a Wednesday.

  • Before making Vancouver Island our home, walking the beaches of Tofino for our "get back to nature" fix, Rock Dunder was our go-to spot - you can feel connected from the peak ... visit and enjoy!

  • I'm a novice hiker and this was on my bucket list to tackle. It's got some challenging sections on the moderate summit loop (to the top of Rock Dunder) and some neat lookout spots over Morton Creek. It took us an hour to get to the top with a few rest stops. We stayed at the summit for about 15 minutes before meandering back along the inside of the loop which was less rocky and a little easier trek. In total it took us (my guy and I and our dog, a 10 month old German Shepherd who had no issues climbing the rocks) 2 hours 40 minutes. It was a busy day on the trails. People were friendly and knowledgeable when I asked a few questions - they'd all been there before and knew the best way in and out. We parked on the highway as the parking lot was full at the bottom of the rock. Some cool cabins to explore along the route. Beautiful and challenging (for me) but it was well worth the hike.
